According to the SOP, class 9, 10, 11, and 12 will be allowed to come to schools and colleges, while all other classes will remain suspended.

Guwahati: Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland has soft reopening of school on Monday after several months.

In Assam classes 9 to 12 will reopen in the state on a voluntary basis. The state government has issued guidelines and SOPs. The SOP will come into effect from Monday and shall be operative for the next 15 days. On 1st of October a new SOP will be issued, state education department sources added.

According to the SOP, class 9, 10, 11, and 12 will be allowed to come to schools and colleges, while all other classes will remain suspended.

The students who would attend need to carry a No Objection certificate from the parents. Earlier all the teaching staffs have undergone mandatory COVID-19 tests.

Meanwhile Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati will open from September 24. The Shaktipeeth of Kamakhya was closed owing to COVID-19 pandemic.

The State government, however, have released a standard operating procedure (SOP) for running the temple that among other restrictions, mentioned only, 500 devotees will be entertained inside every day.
