Renewing liquor permit now costs Rs 13,000 more

In March, a city-based liquor permit holder paid Rs 6,000 to the ‘Patient Welfare Fund’ at Civil Hospital for the renewal of his permit. In August, permit holder Shashank Mehra was shocked when he was told to cough up Rs 19,000 to renew his permit.
