Chopper, tracker dogs deployed in urgent search for 3-year-old boy missing in the South West
A police helicopter, canine team and mounted unit have been deployed to assist with an urgent search operation to find a missing three-year-old in the state's South West.
State Emergency Services volunteers, local residents and police are combing the vast area surrounding Karli Rise, near Yallingup looking for the three-year-old.
The 3-year-old was last seen wearing white Spiderman pyjamas.
The boy was last seen in the area at 7.30am on Saturday wearing white Spiderman pyjamas and wellington boots.
He is described as fair-skinned with blond hair and blue eyes.
Nine News Perth reporter Kamin Gock said large numbers of local volunteers were combing the roads surrounding the vast search area looking to any clues.
A police spokesman thanked the members of the public for their help but urged people not to venture into bushland, as it could compromise evidence of the boy's movements.
"That could impact on the ability of trained searchers to track his movements," he said.
"Anyone who is in the area already is asked to stick to the main tracks and roads. At this time there is no need for further members of the public to attend the location."
Those already in the area are asked to register at the Incident Command Post located at the Department of Fire and Emergency Services SES building on Caves Road.
Anyone who sees the boy is asked to remain with him and call police immediately on 000.
