After receiving constant backlash on the social media, filmmaker Karan Johar has reduced his tweets to a minimum. He was one of the few to wish Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and receive a response from him.

The tweet from Karan Johar is now deleted. In the same, Karan called PM his 'guiding light' and in response, Modi wrote, "Your passion towards cinema is adorable."

In his now-deleted Twitter post, KJo had written, "Happy birthday PM @narendramodi ji! It has been my good fortune to discuss love for movies and the impact of our cinema on the global footprint with you. Your graciousness, warmth and understanding has always served as a guiding light! Wishing you health and happiness!"

Here it is:

Karan Johar had managed to get a selfie with PM Modi, which had become selfie of the year. The photo also included Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari among others.

Johar has been constantly slammed by Sushant Singh Rajput's fans since the actor's mysterious death on June 14, 2020. He was the first to face the brunt after actor Kangana Ranaut accused him of destroying Sushant's career through a 'movie mafia'.

'Nepotism', a word introduced by Kangana on 'Kofee With Karan' came back into limelight and the topic was widely discussed on the internet. More so, Sushant's family started 'Nepometer' to rate the scale of nepotism in a film, thus giving the message of boycotting it. Mahesh Bhatt-Alia Bhatt-Sanjay Dutt's 'Sadak 2' also faced the brunt of it and became the most disliked trailer on YouTube.
