Chennai:
The accused Velraj (44) of Madurai had murdered a history-sheeter, Sundar, in Koyambedu in 2018 and had been arrested along with four others. However, since he failed to appear before the magistrate for the trial after getting out on bail, a non-bailable warrant was issued against him. Meanwhile, Koyambedu police arrested him again on Wednesday from his hideout and took him to KMC for a medical check-up as per procedure to remand him. While he was accompanied by two constables, he is said to have attacked them before fleeing the spot.
