Pricing details for the limited-edition 2021 Toyota Corolla Apex Edition have been revealed, two months after the car’s unveiling.
Toyota will sell the Corolla Apex Edition in two forms. The entry-level Apex SE will be available from $26,065, including destination fees. That makes it $2,695 more expensive than a regular Corolla SE model. Buyers who opt for the available manual transmission will need to pay an additional $390 for the Apex SE.
Sitting at the top of the Apex family is the XSE model available from $29,205, Cars Direct reports. Toyota is building 6,000 examples of the Corolla Apex Edition. It stands out from other Corolla models thanks to a custom black body kit with bronze accents, a front splitter, fog light covers, side skirts, and a rear diffuser. Customers can also opt for a subtle rear spoiler.
Other exterior changes include black mirror caps and 18-inch cast-aluminum wheels that apparently aid in brake cooling while also saving 2.2 lbs (1 kg) per wheel. Elsewhere, the Apex Edition lands with a tweaked suspension system that includes bespoke springs that lower the ride height by 0.6 inches.
There is also an increased spring rate to reduce the roll angle and provide better cornering and steering response. Additionally, Toyota has fitted specially tuned shocks with internal rebound springs and new stabilizer bars to increase rigidity. There is also a sport-tuned catback exhaust with a 3.5-inch stainless steel tip.
All examples have a 2.0-liter Dynamic Force engine producing 169 hp at 6,600 rpm and 151 lb-ft (205 Nm) of torque. Just 120 examples will be available with the aforementioned six-speed iMT manual gearbox.
