Celebrated fashion designer, known for designing ethnic men's wear for reputed Bollywood stars, Sharbari Dutta, was found dead at her Kolkata residence on Friday.

According to a report in Times Now, the 63-year-old was found unconscious in the bathroom of her residence at South Kolkata Broad Street. Her post-mortem examination is likely to be conducted today.

While Dutta's family claims that the late fashion mogul had no chronic ailments, as preliminary investigation by the Kolkata Police officials, it appears that she died of a sudden cardiac arrest, Times Now reported.

The news of Dutta's tragic demise sent shockwaves across the showbiz industry and fashion fraternity with several bigwigs condoling the demise of the 63-year-old.

Film actress Rachna Banerjee, and host of the popular game show ‘Didi No. 1’, shared a very strong bond with her. Rachna had endorsed Sharbari’s designs multiple times and used to consider Sharbari as her elder sister. Rachna took to her social media account and wrote ‘Can’t believe you are no more’.

Tollywood actress Srabonty Chatterjee also mourned Dutta's demise and shared a photograph of the late fashion icon on Twitter.

Daughter of Bengali poet Ajit Datta, Sharbari Datta graduated from Presidency College and got her master's degree from Calcutta University. In her student days, she participated in a number to dance dramas.

Dutta shattered fashion stereotypes by coming up with male accessory designing. Recently, she had also launched a range of diamond accessories for men.
