The Congress on Thursday walked out of the House for not allowing a motion for adjournment on issues related to Dalits in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly.

Vidhan Sabha Speaker Vipin Singh Parmar said that Jagat Singh Negi and some other members of Congress have given him a notice seeking an adjournment motion under Rule 67 to discuss two issues related to Dalits.

Parmar said that the exit of the opposition party was already decided, as the legislators started shouting slogans without waiting for the seat to be arranged on the notice given for adjournment.

He said that the notice was given to discuss two different issues.

Members of Congress tried to create a ruckus instead of presenting a reference to the adjournment motion. Chief Minister Jairam Thakur and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Bhardwaj also criticized the Congress for the exit.
