SANDUSKY, Ohio, Sept. 16, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- PAO Group, Inc. (USOTC: PAOG) today announced an agreement with Puration, Inc. (USOTC: PURA) to build a proprietary hemp cultivar development facility on PURA's Farmersville, Texas branded site.
PAOG recently acquired a hemp cultivation business from PURA and is now expanding upon that business to develop a proprietary hemp cultivar in conjunction with the company's overall pharmaceutical focus.
PAOG is developing a hemp derived cannabidiol (CBD) pharmaceutical treatment for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
The COPD treatment, RespRx, is derived from a patented cannabis extraction method - U.S. Patent No. 9,199,960 entitled "METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROCESSING HERBACEOUS PLANT MATERIALS INCLUDING THE CANNABIS PLANT."
In an initial scientific evaluation as a treatment for COPD, RespRx has demonstrated effecting significant increases in respiration rate, tidal volume and inspiratory air flow rate. Overall data from the evaluation demonstrated that RespRx can significantly improve inspiratory lung functions in instances of moderate pulmonary fibrosis.
PAOG's Farmersville cultivar development operation will include a lab and an environmentally controlled indoor growing facility. PAOG is working with current cultivars to evolve and produce an ideal plant with full spectrum, high CBD yields to support ongoing RespRx development and to support future CBD pharmaceutical developments.
PAOG is exploring opportunities to engage with university research in partnership with its hemp cultivar development initiative.
PURA recently announced a year long initiative to transition PURA from a CBD sports beverage manufacturer into a hemp conglomerate built on lifestyle brand with a broad CBD consumer products reach, and a leading industrial hemp initiative. The brand name is Farmersville Brands and as part of their strategy, PURA has entered into a letter of intent (LOI) agreement to acquire 72 acers of agricultural property in Farmersville, Texas. PURA's year long initiative includes plans to see the Farmersville Brand strategy infused with a $100 million investment.
This Friday, September 18, 2020, PAOG CEO James C. DiPrima will discuss in an interview with Donald Baillargeon of MoneyTV, PAOG's overall approach to engaging a Contract Research Organization (CRO) to advance an Investigational New Drug Application (IND) to ultimately achieve Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for PAOG's RespRx as a COPD treatment.

The matter came to light on Wednesday at SPS Government Hospital, Rishikesh where a doctor was doing this for money, officials at the hospital said requesting anonymity.
The probe will seek to find out for how long the racket was going on at the hospital.
Rishikesh:
A government hospital in Uttarakhand allegedly issued OPD slips to people certifying that they have no symptoms of COVID-19, without conducting an RT-PCR test, prompting the administration to launch an inquiry into the matter.
Mostly such fake certificates were issued in violation of ICMR guidelines to migrant workers who wanted to go to other districts in search of work.
The matter came to light on Wednesday at SPS Government Hospital, Rishikesh where a doctor was doing this for money, officials at the hospital said requesting anonymity.
They also produced a sample of one such OPD slip issued by the doctor bearing his signature and the stamp of the hospital as a proof.
When contacted Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Om Prakash on Wednesday said a detailed enquiry is being ordered into the matter.
The probe will seek to find out for how long the racket was going on at the hospital and how many doctors were involved in it, he said.
Chief Medical Superintendent NS Tomar said as per the guidelines of the Centre and the Indian Council of Medical Research an RT-PCR test alone can certify whether or not a person is suffering from COVID-19.

Last Updated: September 16, 2020, 8:13 PM IST
Three Italian clubs were put in the pot of third-seeded teams on Wednesday for next month’s Champions League draw.
The third- and fourth-seeded pots will be completed when the final six places in the 32-team group stage are decided in qualifying rounds by Sept. 30.

The top-seeded pot includes the winners of the Champions League and Europa League Bayern Munich and Sevilla and the champions of the six highest-ranked national leagues, excluding Germany because Bayern won the Bundesliga. The other league champions are Real Madrid, Liverpool, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Zenit St. Petersburg and Porto.

The second-seeded pot includes Barcelona, Atltico Madrid, Manchester City, Manchester United, Shakhtar Donetsk, Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea and Ajax.
Borussia Moenchengladbach and Rennes will be seeded fourth.
In the draw on Oct. 1, groups cannot include two teams from the same country. Games will tart on Oct. 20.

Former track federation president Lamine Diack was sentenced Wednesday to two years in prison for his role in a scheme that allowed Russian athletes who paid hush money to keep competing when they should have been suspended for doping. (More Cricket News)
The guilty verdict in a Paris court represented a spectacular fall from grace for the 87-year-old Diack, who was the powerful head of the IAAF from 1999-2015.
The court also sentenced Diack to another two years of suspended jail time and fined him 500,000 euros (USD 590,000).
Diack was found guilty of multiple corruption charges and of breach of trust but acquitted of a money laundering charge.
At Diack's trial in June, prosecutors requested a four-year jail term and a fine of 500,000 euros (USD 590,000).
Diack, wearing a white robe, sat impassive in front of the chief judge as she read out the guilty verdict and sentence.
The judge, Rose-Marie Hunault, detailed his role in the payoff scheme, dubbed "full protection," that squeezed Russian athletes suspected of doping of about 3.2 million euros (USD 3.74 million) in hush money.
"The money was paid in exchange for a program of 'full protection,'" she said, adding the scheme allowed athletes who should have been suspended "purely and simply to escape sanctions."
The court also handed guilty verdicts to five other people, including Diack's son, Papa Massata Diack, who worked as an IAAF marketing consultant. The judge said USD 15 million was funneled to the younger Diack's companies, including commissions and money creamed off contracts and the sale of TV rights and other transactions while his father was in charge at the IAAF.
The younger Diack lives in Senegal, which has refused to extradite him. He was not in court for the verdict and did not attend the six-day hearing in June. The court sentenced him in his absence to five years in prison and a fine of 1 million euros (USD 1.17 million).

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is definitely the best looking smartphone in the market today. It's fast and has a good camera too, but those are only incremental updates over its predecessor. Buy it if you want a phone that you can show off.

Samsung Galaxy S8 detailed review
Samsung really wants its flagship phone to stand out. Given the industry’s constraints, it can’t do that with internal hardware, but what it can do is innovate on design. To its credit, Samsung has been at it for three years now and it this is the closest it has come to perfection. You know what they say though? Perfection doesn’t exist. So, despite the Samsung Galaxy S8’s impressive design, there are gaping holes too.
SEO and trends dictate that we review the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ separately, but frankly speaking, they’re the same smartphones. The differences are minor, so for this review, I’ll simply point out the stuff that differs. You can read the rest in the Galaxy S8+ review.
Build and Design
Smaller, lighter, but just as curved and slippery as the Galaxy S8+. That’s the best way to describe the Galaxy S8. We had the midnight black variant of this one too, and yes, it does have a certain affinity to fingerprints. To be absolutely frank, I personally don’t mind this, because it still feels excellent to hold and as premium as it gets.
That said, I can’t get over the fact that there’s a lot to break on this phone. Gorilla Glass 5 is tough, but it’s still glass that can be broken. Considering you have glass on both sides, using a case is warranted. That, though means you’ll lose the excellent design language and ergonomics.
Speaking of ergonomics, I recommend you risk it and take advantage of them. The Galaxy S8’s back is slippery, but it’s tall and narrow body provides excellent grip. Not once did I feel like the phone would slip out of my hands, even when I woke up all sleepy eyed in the morning and turned off my alarms.
The buttons
I said in the Galaxy S8+ review that button placement was awkward on that phone, and it’s exactly the opposite here. Depending on which hand you’re holding it in, the power on/off button falls right below your thumb/index finger. The volume rocker and Bixby button are also easy to reach without shifting your grip.
The on-screen home, back and recents button work as they should and the phone is narrower than the Galaxy S8, meaning your finger reaches across the screen without a hassle. Apps like Asphalt 8 will use the full 18.5:9 aspect ratio, so you’ll be using the pressure sensitive home button more often. To explain: the Galaxy S8 has a pressure sensitive home button right below the on-screen version appears. You can press down here at any time to return home.
The fingerprint scanner and other biometrics
You’ll find the fingerprint sensor on the back, next to the camera. It’s a new but awkward place to put it on and I do wish Samsung had at least used an indented or raised design here, but this still works on the Galaxy S8, due to its smaller size. It took about a day to get used to, but it’s fast once you’re done.
The Iris Scanner and Face Unlock features also worked on the Galaxy S8. Although, like the bigger phone, they aren’t really dependable here either. You can’t keep both of these features turned on at the same time, and I do recommend using the Iris Scanner over the face unlock. It’s a better solution for low light conditions and faster. Once again though, neither of these are as dependable or seamless as the fingerprint scanner.
I could go on about the design of this smartphone, but everything else you need to know will be found in the Galaxy S8+ review linked above.
Display
It’s hard to believe that this is a 5.8 inch display panel. Univisium aspect ratio makes it taller, but watching content on the Galaxy S8 is much simpler than its elder brother. You still get pillarboxing effects, but only on the two sides and none on the Edge panels. Colour reproduction, saturation and touch sensitivity and feel remain just as good, underscored by excellent black levels and contrast ratio. It achieves nearly luminance readings of nearly 800 Lux, making it one of the brightest displays out there.
Battery
You make a slight compromise with the battery on this device and frankly speaking, a 3000 mAh battery is small by today’s standards. In the Galaxy S8’s case, size does matter and the battery lasts about two-three hours less than the bigger variant. On the PC Mark test, the Galaxy S8 lasted 8 hours 57 minutes on the PC Mark Work 2.0 Battery test.
On regular usage, the phone gets you by about 10 hours during the day. I got the same with some camera usage, about 10 phones calls and just over an hour of gaming. Brightness was set on auto throughout the day, and I spent about two hours in the sun, pushing screen brightness to above medium levels.
It’s the industry standard when it comes to flagships today, but really, it’s about time companies focus on this aspect too. Samsung’s competitors, including Apple, may not be doing much either but for a company looking to have its phone stand out, a bigger battery would have been a better idea.
Performance, Camera, Audio Quality and UI
All of these are mostly the same on the Galaxy S8 and S8+. So, you can simply head over to that review to learn about them.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 is noticeably smaller than the S8+, but its screen size differs by only 0.2 inches. Hence, graphics performance and other performance elements are the same too. As always, Samsung also chose the Exynos 8895 SoC for this one instead of the Snapdragon 835.
AnTuTu Benchmark
Geekbench 4 Single Core
Geekbench 4 Multi Core
GFXBench Car Chase
Bottomline
If I had to pick between the two Samsung flagships this year, I would definitely go with the Galaxy S8. That’s because I’m a stickler for compact devices. However, its 5.8 inch display allows enough screen real estate for big phones lovers too. The Galaxy S8, like its cousin, is an incremental update in terms of performance and camera. However, unless Apple, LG, HTC or anyone else can come up with a better design, this is the best looking smartphone this year.
I recommend this to anyone looking for a phone you can show off, but I do have to warn you too. Just like last year, the Galaxy S8 is also prone to slowing down because it runs on Android.

Twitter reportedly took action after it was questioned for the three-year-old tweet
Highlights
Twitter has flagged the tweet saying it violated its rules
T Raja Singh was recently banned by Facebook for hate speech
Twitter has not taken any action up until now
Twitter has removed a tweet by BJP politician T Raja Singh that was posted in September 2017. In the tweet carrying a video, the BJP Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Telangana urged Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and citizens of the country to deport Rohingya Muslim immigrants. The 42-year-old politician also used a hashtag #DeportRohingyaMuslims. He posted a similar message on Facebook that eventually pushed the social media giant to ban him permanently from the platform.
The tweet posted on September 12, 2017 by Singh is no longer available for access and is shown with a message saying it violated the Twitter rules. TechCrunch reports that the social network took the action after it was questioned about the three-year-old tweet.
“Twitter has zero-tolerance policies in place to address threats of violence, abuse and harassment, and hateful conduct. If we identify accounts that violate these rules, we'll take enforcement action. Upon investigation, the referenced Tweet was actioned for violating our policies,” a Twitter spokesperson told Gadgets 360.
Twitter added that under its Hateful Conduct Policy, it does not tolerate the abuse or harassment of people on the basis of religion, age, caste, disability or disease and take down content that is in violation of our Twitter Rules including dehumanising language. It recorded a 47 percent increase in the number of accounts actioned, as compared to the last reporting period, Twitter noted in its latest transparency report.
Singh was seen in the tweet encouraging his followers to share the message so that every “Hindu and [other] Indians” would see it. This was, however, not the first time when the politician made a questionable comment on social media. For a similar post, Facebook earlier this month had decided to ban him from its platform and Instagram.
“We have banned Raja Singh from Facebook for violating our policy prohibiting those that promote or engage in violence and hate from having a presence on our platform,” a Facebook spokesperson had said, while announcing the move against the controversial BJP leader.
However, Singh claimed on Twitter that he had not been using Facebook since April 2019 and thus the banning didn't make any difference.

Australia Pushes Trade With India As Row With China Exposes Dependence
New enrollments of international students from India expanded 32% in 2019 from a year earlier and it's the fastest growing major market for Australian services.
Australia's services exports have been experiencing a quiet tectonic shift over the past 18 months.
Australia's escalating tensions with Beijing have shown up its reliance on China trade and propelled a push to increase links with Asia's other giant economy, India.
New enrollments of international students from India expanded 32% in 2019 from a year earlier and it's the fastest growing major market for Australian services. India has overtaken China as the largest source of net migration to Australia, and its diaspora is the third largest Down Under, just behind China and the U.K.
India's swelling population -- set to overtake China's in 2027 -- suggests ongoing opportunities for Australia to diversify a trade portfolio that currently makes it the developed world's most China-dependent economy. The need to switch things up has accelerated as ties sank to their lowest ebb in 30 years after Canberra's calls for an international inquiry into Covid-19's origins was taken by Beijing as a political attack, with China imposing barriers on barley, beef and wine from Down Under.
This has Australia looking to its democratic, cricket-loving ally to fill the void. Prime Minister Scott Morrison held a virtual summit with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi in June and the two signed a defense agreement and upgraded ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The trade ministers of Japan, India and Australia recently agreed to work toward achieving supply chain resilience in the Indo-Pacific region.
"We can sell India education, health care, and there's potential in science and technology," said Ian Hall, a professor of international relations at Griffith University in Queensland. "It's much more the consumer market of India's growing middle class than goods."
Yet trade with India has its own challenges. Its government is wedded to economic nationalism, as showcased last year when it pulled out of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership designed to free up trade.
Delhi wants to send lots of people to Australia on work visas and doesn't want to reduce tariffs, according to former Australian Trade Minister Craig Emerson, who initiated the Australia-India free trade negotiations in 2011, resulting in a two-way trade around just one tenth of China-Australia shipments.
"India is highly concerned about its trade deficit," said Lai-Ha Chan, a political scientist at the University of Technology in Sydney, who notes that after signing free trade agreements with South Korea and Japan, India's trade deficit with those nations ballooned. "It would be very worried about Australian farm products, like dairy, harming Indian farmers."
Australia's most valuable export -- iron ore -- hasn't been caught in China's cross hairs yet, perhaps due to a lack of alternative suppliers. Yet Beijing appears to be giving itself greater flexibility, with Emerson noting that China is buying ore carriers that improve the economics of long-distance shipping from Brazil and purchasing Guinea mines.
"It's entirely possible China, once it gets all three mineral provinces in a row -- Guinea, Brazil and Australia -- will play one off against the other to get a better price," he said. "If you're China, you'd say 'where's our vulnerability? Iron ore. So let's diversify, let's fix that.' They may never need to activate it, but it's there, it's available."
Australia's services exports have been experiencing a quiet tectonic shift over the past 18 months. In education, growth in Indian enrollments has seen the number of Indian student visa holders eclipse Chinese students. While China's dominance of Australia's goods exports reflects commodities demand, in the employment-intensive services sector China's importance has been challenged by a doubling of services exports to India over the past two years.

Premier League games continue to be played behind closed doors
The English Football League will continue to stage pilots with up to 1,000 fans at matches this weekend, following approval from the government.
Championship, League One and League Two clubs were asked to put in requests by Tuesday in order for their plans to be signed off in time.
Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden will meet sports bodies on Wednesday.
However, a decision is unlikely to be reached this week on the planned return of spectators to sport from 1 October.
The English Football League (EFL) said the pilots were an "important step" for fans' safe return.
Those in local lockdown areas were told they would not receive permission to take part in the test events.
In a letter to clubs on Tuesday, the EFL's head of policy John Nagle said: "We cannot guarantee at this stage that all clubs that would like to stage a pilot will be given permission to do so, as only a limited number will be approved.
"We are still in discussions with regard to pilot matches on other dates."
Nagle said that "the next 48 hours are likely to be critical in terms of determining the direction of travel" regarding the potential return of supporters.
He asked clubs to lobby local MPs, urging them to "make representations on behalf of you, their local club, to government" and added that football was facing "an impending financial crisis as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic".
Nagle also said key messages clubs should highlight to MPs were that: "Football now wishes to see the government give the green light to the return of crowds from the beginning of October as originally planned, as will be the case in many other European countries including Belgium, Germany, France, Denmark, Austria, Poland and Switzerland.
"Failure to do so, or to at least provide any credible roadmap back to the return of fans in the near future, could have catastrophic consequences for many football clubs and the communities they represent."
He apologised for the "late notice and short timescales" but said: "We are very much in the government's hands on this one."
An EFL spokesman said it remained "in discussions with the government about the pilot programme which may include a limited number of further pilot matches during September with capacity limited to 1,000".
"The League is clear in its view that social distancing can be applied safely in football stadia and that having crowds at matches is an absolutely essential part of helping to protect club finances, which remain under extreme pressure," they added.
"Therefore, the successful delivery of further pilots will be an important step towards getting larger numbers of fans into grounds safely."
Last week, the government restricted pilot events to 1,000 spectators after a rise in coronavirus cases, and said plans for grounds to be up to a third full from 1 October would be reviewed.
The Premier League has already written to the government over pilot plans and says around £100m per month will be lost by clubs across the leagues while matches continue behind closed doors.
It is one of a number of sports bodies to have voiced concerns at the financial impact of an extended period with empty venues.
Nigel Huddleston, Minister for Sport, Tourism and Heritage, has written to former sports minister Tracey Crouch MP to state that despite changes to Covid-19 restrictions, the UK government is hopeful fans can attend events under socially distanced conditions from 1 October.
National League chairman Brian Barwick has warned that clubs risk suffering "severe economic hardship" and players will go unpaid unless the government allows fans into its stadiums next month.
Barwick has written to Dowden to express his concern.
"Unlike the upper echelons of English professional football, the National League restart depends upon crowds being allowed back in stadiums as live attendance is by far the largest source of income," he said.
"If a decision is made to delay or to cancel the return of fans, it is feared many players and staff may go unpaid due to the shortfall in match day income and the furlough scheme being discontinued.
"Furthermore, in the absence of a credible pathway for the return of spectators, it is feared that clubs could suffer severe economic hardship, and that community assets may fall out of use."
'We wouldn't last the season'
On Monday, the second pilot fixture in rugby union's Premiership took place as 1,000 spectators attended Gloucester's match with Harlequins.
Meanwhile, a report in the Times on Tuesday claims attendances could be restricted to between 1,000 and 2,500 from 1 October, depending on the coronavirus infection rate.
Gloucester chief executive Lance Bradley told BBC Radio 4 that level of restriction would be "a disaster" if put in place for the remainder of the season.
"We simply have to get fans back in reasonable numbers as soon as possible to ensure the game survives," said Bradley. "We can't keep going losing money with 1,000 or 2,000 fans.
"In the end, that would be a disaster. There are clubs in a worse position than us but we would find it very difficult.
"We wouldn't be able to make it through the season if we were only allowed crowds of 2,500."
'The consequences could be very serious for Silverstone'
Silverstone managing director Stuart Pringle said the track needs to get a full crowd back for next summer's British Grand Prix as a reduced capacity is not sustainable for its business.
"If we had no fans here next year - and in fact if we are required to run with a reduced number of fans here next year - the consequences could be very, very serious for Silverstone," he told BBC Sport.
"We have had a truly dreadful 2020. We are burning through cash at an alarming rate. You cannot run a 550 acre site with no revenue coming in or very, very reduced revenue.
"If we are not hitting a level that is very, very far above 50%, then we are not even breaking even. I don't want to run with a reduced audience next year because it will simply make us lose more money, quicker - and we cannot sustain that.
"If we are not there, Silverstone will be in a dire place."
