Ajit Doval, team walked out of Shanghai Cooperation Organization over doctored map by Pak (File)

New Delhi:

National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and the Indian team walked out a meet of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization hosted by Russia after Pakistan used a doctored map as a background for its representative. The map showed Indian territories as part of Pakistan. The Indian side's move was a protest against Pakistan's blatant violation of norms, the foreign ministry said on Tuesday.

Asked about the issue, ministry spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said in a statement: "The Pakistani NSA deliberately projected a fictitious map that Pakistan has recently been propagating. This was in blatant disregard to the advisory by the host (Russia) against it and in violation of the norms of the meeting."

After consultation with the host, the Indian side left the meeting in protest at that juncture, the statement added.

"As was to be expected, Pakistan then went on to present a misleading view of this meeting," the statement further read.

The map, issued by Prime Minister Imran Khan on August 4, claims territories of India - Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Sir Creek in Gujarat -- as parts of Pakistan. India had rubbished it as an "exercise in political absurdity" with no legal validity.

Government sources said Islamabad's use of the fictitious map, depicting sovereign Indian territories as part of Pakistan, is a blatant violation of the SCO Charter. It is also against all its established norms of safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of SCO Member States.

India, sources said, has issued strong objection to the use of this illegal map by Pakistan.

The Russian side, as the Chair, had tried very hard to persuade Pakistan not to do so. Russia does not support what Pakistan has done and hopes that Pakistan's provocative act will not affect India's participation in SCO, sources said.

Over the last year, Pakistan has been attempting to highlight Kashmir at most international forums. But showing such a map in violation of protocol became possible as the meeting was virtual owing to the coronavirus pandemic.

Appearances Matter in Jaguar’s ’21 F-Pace | WardsAuto

In the U.S., 2021 Jaguar F-Pace will come in four trim configurations with three powertrain options.

Appearances Matter in Jaguar’s ’21 F-Pace

Jaguar hopes you like what the designers have done here, as the F-Pace's new design is setting up a blueprint for future models.

When Jaguar started updating the new F-Pace, it didn't want to make the average new model year changes. Instead, with a completely new interior and a few exterior upgrades, the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace is far more than a midcycle refresh, says Jaguar design director Julian Thomson.

"It's been great for our team to have the opportunity to revisit these cars and go back and refine them and make them better," he says, speaking about both the new F-Pace and the upcoming 2021 XF, which will be unveiled later this month. “We’ve gone over the car with a fine-tooth comb and made every single thing better.”

Thomson says the ’21 F-Pace has a focus on technology, but is also an authentic, luxury Jaguar vehicle. It also will be Jaguar’s first plug-in hybrid, but only in Europe.

In the U.S., the ’21 Jaguar F-Pace will come in four trim configurations with three powertrain options, all using an 8-speed automatic transmission. The 250 and S 250 versions each use a 2.0L turbocharged gasoline 4-cyl. that produces 246 hp.

The S 340 and R-Dynamic S 400 are mild hybrids and both use a 3.0L gasoline 6-cyl. that produces 335 hp in the S 340 and 395 hp in the R-Dynamic S 400.

The mild hybrids store regenerative braking energy in a 48V lithium-ion battery pack and can use it for acceleration, with the R-Dynamic S 400 hitting 60 mph (97 km/h) from zero in exactly 5 seconds, Jaguar says.

It’s the updated looks, though, where Jaguar designers spent lots of time making sure the ’21 F-Pace got what it deserved, with particular focus on the lighting.

Up front, the “Double J Blade” daytime running lights and slim, LED quad headlights accentuate an enlarged grille with a can't-miss-it logo in red. The rear lights (pictured below) use Jaguar's double chicane graphic previously seen on the all-electric I-Pace.

Aside from the lights, the new F-Pace's hood and sides have been updated, and the R-Dynamic version stands even further apart with enhanced performance looks.

Inside, Jaguar has put a premium on keeping things calm and clean. Ambient lighting is almost a given in upscale cars these days, and the F-Pace includes both configurable subdued lights as well as warm white courtesy lighting in "key areas."

Drivers will gain information from the 12.3-in. (31-cm) interactive driver display behind the steering wheel (pictured below).

Jaguar also has two ways to keep the outside, well, outside thanks to active road noise cancellation and an optional PM 2.5 filter to keep what the EPA calls "fine inhalable particles" (particulate matter that's less than 2.5 micrometers in diameter) out of your lungs.

Jaguar hopes you like what the designers have done here, as the F-Pace's new design is setting up a blueprint for future models.

Jaguar also provides a Pivi Pro infotainment system and 14-speaker Meridian sound system to keep you entertained. Like other automakers – see the Polestar 2, with its Android Automotive OS – Jaguar is trying to not just integrate smartphones with the car (and the F-Pace can connect to two phones at once), but also to make the car’s built-in system feel more like your phone.

Jaguar says Pivi Pro’s flat menu structure is intuitive, putting favorite features either on the 11.4-in. (29-cm) curved-glass home screen or just one click away, with “most other features” accessible by two clicks.

Jaguar’s Electronic Vehicle Architecture, now in its second generation, allows for over-the-air updates and even powers the dual-sim Pivi Pro with a dedicated energy source so that it turns on when you open the door and before you sit down in the driver's seat.

The ’21 F-Pace has plenty of driver-assistance and safety technologies, with blindspot and rear traffic monitors as standard features. An optional Clear Exit Monitor watches for cars or cyclists approaching from the rear and will warn occupants when they start to open the door.

An updated smart wearable device called the Activity Key can be used to access the new F-Pace even without the key fob.

Details on price and on-sale date will be announced later.

The upcoming smartwatches are expected to have SpO2 and stress detection features. Amazfit GTR 2 and GTS 2 are expected to be similar to their predecessors but have more advanced features.

Amazfit shared an invite poster announcing the upcoming launch, and shared photos of the soon-to-be-launched Amazfit GTR 2 and Amazfit GTS 2. Amazfit teased that the smartwatches may boast of SpO2 features.

Huami founder Wang Huang commented on the challenges faced while designing Amazfit GTR 2 and GTS 2. He said that while it was difficult to create a classic, it was even harder to surpass one. Huang said that the company focused on things such as the stylish appearance of the watch, the long battery life, and the health features.

As per a teaser poster shared by Huami on Weibo, The Amazfit GTR 2 has a round face and a narrower dial bezel than its predecessor. Amazfit GTR 2 that sports a classic look is expected to exceed its predecessor on the battery front. The Amazfit GTR comes with a 410mAh battery that can last up to 74 days in basic watch mood.

The Huami Amazfit GTS 2, meanwhile, has a square-shaped design, and looks slimmer than its predecessor. The Amazfit GTS has a battery life of 14 days and a 1.65-inch (348x442 pixels) AMOLED display with a curved screen.

Wang Huang said that the company faced challenges while designing the second generation smartwatches. It wanted to make the appearance of the Amazfit GTR 2 and GTS 2 more stunning, improve on the health functions and subtract the user's learning costs while adding on additional functions.

Amazfit GTR 2 and Amazfit GTS 3 will be launched on September 22 at 2pm CST Asia (11:30 am IST).
