A United Kingdom-based company claims to have developed a saliva test for COVID-19, called “Virolens” that takes 20 seconds to process and produce results. The test it claims requires a simple mouth swab which is dropped inside a black box fitted with a modified microscope lens attached digital camera that examines the sample and displays an answer within seconds.

Coronavirus in India LIVE Updates | Demand for work under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) increased nearly 40 percent in the current fiscal year owing to the mass migration of migrant workers to rural India. Responding to a question in the Lok Sabha, Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said demand for work rose by 38.79 percent as 22.49 crore people sought work under the scheme this year until September 12, as compared to 16.2 crore last year in the same period.

Coronavirus in Maharashtra LIVE Updates | A member of the NCB team probing drugs angle in actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death case tested positive for coronavirus today following which questioning of the actor's former manager Shruti Modi was postponed, an official said. Modi reached the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) office in south Mumbai around 10 am for questioning by the Special Investigation Team (SIT). But, before the probe team could start recording her statement, the NCB received report of one of its SIT members testing positive for coronavirus, the official said. The SIT member's antigen test came out positive, he said, adding that other members of the probe team will also be tested and all protocols will be followed. (PTI)
