Haryana: Ambala reports 192 new Covid-19 cases, 1 death

AMBALA: The district on Wednesday reported 192 fresh cases of Covid-19, taking its coronavirus tally to 6,390. Ambala also reported one Covid-related death pushing the toll to 65.
“The deceased was a 48-year-old man from Ranjit Nagar, who was a drug-addict and his lungs were severely damaged. He was on ventilator support. Ambala’s mortality rate is 1.01%,” said civil surgeon Dr Kuldeep Singh.
As many as 144 Covid patients were discharged during the day, taking the recovery count to 5,016, with the recovery rate of 78.50%, he said.
“So far, we have collected 79,379 samples for Covid-19 testing in Ambala, of which, 65,279 are RT-PCR samples and 14,100 are rapid antigen testing kit samples. In the district, we have collected 70,371 samples per 10 lakh population," said Dr Singh.
