Cop found dead was accused in several cases

Greater Noida: A day after a constable was found dead inside a toilet at Dadri police station, police said the post-mortem report says he had a “heart attack”.
The body of 34-year-old constable Priyavrat- whose services had been terminated- was found inside the bathroom behind the office of ACP II on the police station premises on Monday evening.
The constable from Baghpat had been suspended on August 25 following a department inquiry by Noida police after it was revealed that he was an accused in several cases and had been jailed once.
A post mortem was conducted on his body almost 20 hours after his body was found with a twisted tongue inside the bathroom in the Dadri police station premises.
While his family members had been seated at the post mortem house in Sector 94 on Tuesday, an autopsy was conducted on his body only around 2 pm.
Dadri SHO Rajveer Singh Chauhan said the post-mortem report concluded that he died of “heart attack”.
Priyavrat had been staying in a rented accommodation at Balaji Colony, Dadri, along with another police constable.
Reports said that Priyavrat was upset over the action that was taken against him on August 25 when his services were terminated from the UP police post an inquiry initiated against him for being engaged in at least six criminal cases in Meerut and Muzaffarnagar.
The criminal history of the deceased, in possession with TOI, reveals that he was an accused in a case of dishonestly receiving stolen property. The case has been lodged at Jani police station, Meerut. In Kankerkheda police station, Meerut, he has a case of loot, cheating and dishonestly receiving stolen property lodged against him.
There is a case of wrongful confinement, loot and dishonestly receiving stolen property against him at Ganganagar police station, Meerut.
He has three other cases at Khatauli police station, Muzaffarnagar.
The charges include dishonestly receiving property stolen in the commission of a dacoity, cheating, dishonestly receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy and a gangster act case.
Chargesheets have been filed in five cases between 2017 and 2018.
DCP (Greater Noida) Rajesh Kumar Singh said that six cases had been lodged against him in Muzaffarnagar and Meerut and a departmental inquiry was carried out against him by a former ACP of Dadri and completed by additional DCP (crime).
A senior police officer told TOI that the constable had been jailed in one of the cases due to which, his statements could not be taken during the preliminary inquiry.
“However, in the conclusive inquiry, his statements were taken along with allegations and action was recommended against him in June,” he said.
While Priyavrat’s family members could not be reached, one of his friends Rahul they were not aware of his suspension.
