On her quest to remove as many harmful ingredients from her makeup bag as possible Rosie stumbled upon Ere Perez' Aloe Gel Lash & Brow Mascara ($33), a brand that was introduced to the public from Sydney's Bondi Beach 15 years ago.

'I'm very loyal to my clear eyebrow gel from Anastasia Beverly Hills because my eyebrows tend to be a little bit wiry and they move around, but this is a great clean alternative,' she said.

'I love the way it brushes through the eyebrow and gives a feathered look. It really does hold down throughout the day.'

She demonstrated its staying power by gently using the brush to lift her eyebrows upward.

The product is a clear gel formula infused with vitamin-rich organic aloe vera, which helps to lengthen lashes, add shine and highlight the customer's lash colour.

The product is both sweat-proof and water-resistant, meaning you can use it in the height of summer, and can be applied even around the most sensitive eyes.

As it's part of the clean community the brow and lash mascara is free of parabens, phthalates, propylene glycol, paraffin, lead, nanoparticles and GMOs.

It's sold out on the Ere Perez website - with a waitlist already begun - although international shoppers can still find it on Revolve

'I use this every morning. I have thick individual brow hairs but they don't sit very thick together. This stands them all up and looks great! Not hard when it dries, still soft. Also you can use it over mascara to make it waterproof,' one happy customer wrote online.

'Love this. Holds all day but because it is a liquid rather than wax you need to let it set for a minute. It feels really soothing on the skin, unlike the wax varieties I've tried,' said another.

A third added: 'This keeps my brows in shape and doesn't leave any yucky residue making them look super natural. I've been using it daily ever since I bought it'.

Though earlier this year at the DefExpo, an announcement related to the winner was expected. However, there was none, as there has been strong opposition from the Russian side on the shortlisting of the South Korean company Hanwha Defence’s offer for the SPAD-GMS project.

At the end of a high-level meeting in the Ministry of Defence (MoD), there are plans to withdraw the Request for Proposals (RfPs) of two critical programmes — the $ 3 billion Propelled Air Defence Gun Missile System (SPAD-GMS) deal and the long-delayed Fast Track Procurement of Close Quarter Carbines. High placed sources told to Financial Express Online “Two critical programmes which have been getting delayed for various reasons are expected to be closed and these will now be made locally in an effort to ensure that the Indian Armed Forces’ dependency on imports is cut down. At the end of the meeting, it has been decided that the focus will be on `Atmanirbharbharat’ and announcement to this effect will be made soon.”

Story of Self Propelled Air Defence Gun Missile System (SPAD-GMS) project

Though earlier this year at the DefExpo, an announcement related to the winner was expected. However, there was none, as there has been strong opposition from the Russian side on the shortlisting of the South Korean company Hanwha Defence’s offer for the SPAD-GMS project.

“The Russian side at various levels has been voicing its concerns to the Indian side. And there was a situation of a single vendor. Therefore, in all probability, the RfP will be withdrawn soon and the Army will go for the indigenously made gun.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, Independent monitors were appointed by the MoD to ensure that all steps were followed as per the RfP as well as the DPP and they were to come out with a comprehensive report outlining any concerns if any.

          So far …

There were five bidders, and after extensive scrutiny only South Korean company and Russian company made it to the trial stage. During trials, Russia failed which left the South Korean company in the fray, thus creating a single vendor situation.

In the $ 3 billion deal, the Russian side has been making several representations to the MoD focusing on issues related to the non-compliance to the specifications laid down in the RFP. And they have also mentioned that the system offered by the South Korean Company is one generation older and if and when it is inducted in service, the army will have to go for an early upgradation.

However, as was reported earlier, in an exclusive interaction the South Korean company had refuted all these concerns raised by the Russian side in their presentations to the MoD.

“The Hybrid Biho which has been offered is the improved version of the original Biho mobile air-defence system and is fully compliant to the specifications mentioned in the RfP, “company officials had told Financial Express Online.

What is the Indian Army looking for?

The SPAD-GMS will be replacing 1360 obsolete Bofors L 70 40mm single barrel and Soviet-era ZU-23-2 towed 23 mm twin-barrel weapon systems of the Indian Army. The Indian Army needs almost five regiments of the guns which can be deployed with the forces and can be relocated based on the threat perception.

However, the specifications laid down in the RfP have remained unfulfilled by companies from Russia and South Korea.

A global tender was floated in 2013, and an upgraded Tunguska system was fielded by Almaz Ante and Pantsir by KBP Tula systems from Russia. Both the guns failed the trials. And, South Korean — Hybrid Biho system, was left in the race as a single vendor.

Close Quarter Carbine from the UAE based Caracal

Indian Army, despite making representations to the CDS explaining the critical need for the CQBs will now have to wait longer till they are made in India.

There are plans to cancel the RfP for 93,895 CQBs deal too as it has already got delayed even though it was to come through the FTP route.

Private sector companies have offered to make these locally and the MoD in an effort to promote Atmanirbharbharat is expected to announce the cancellation soon.

A fresh RfP is expected next year and it will be for over all requirement of 3.5 lakh CQB.

Facebook Connect: New technology and products expected to debut at event

Facebook Connect: New technology and products expected to debut at event

Those who own Oculus VR headsets can watch the Facebook Connect event through the Oculus Venues app for a more immersive experience.

The tech industry shows that even amid a pandemic, consumers are still eager to see new products and the innovation that comes along with it. Apple recently wrapped up "Time Flies" event which debuted several new items: The Apple Watch Series 6, Apple Watch SE, iPad Air 4, and iPad 8. Now, its time for the Facebook Connect presentation where folks can expect to learn about the latest hardware and services related to virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) experiences.

A few years back, the company acquired VR headset manufacturer Oculus for $2 billion. According to the social networking service's CEO Mark Zuckerberg, VR technology is the computing platform of the future. At the time, he lauded the potential of VR/AR to "change the way we work, play and communicate." As the ongoing health crisis forces people to stay indoors and explore new ways to stay connected, a unique solution might be introduced soon.

"There's a spike in awareness and interest in adopting these technologies, not just from consumers, but enterprise," said Gartner analyst Tuong Nguyen. "Despite that, there's still some hurdles that VR needs to overcome," he added as reported by CNET. Those who want to view the Facebook Connect event can view it on the official page of Facebook Reality Labs. Meanwhile, those who own Oculus VR headsets can do so via the Oculus Venues app for a more immersive experience.

          Social VR

The developers apparently want to introduce new ways for its users to interact in the virtual world. Facebook Horizon is a new service that was demonstrated in 2019 during the Oculus presentation (rebranded into Facebook Connect in 2020). Using compatible VR headsets, people can interact through 3D avatars to play games or just socialise with others. Most describe it as a virtual theme park wherein players can just have fun.

          Second-generation Oculus Quest

Last year, Facebook released the $399 Oculus Quest – a VR headset that offers wireless freedom for the user. Although it's not as powerful as the Rift series it is a capable platform for entertainment. With some online retailers spotted listing the product as discontinued, analysts believe a new version will be announced soon.

Facebook Connect might also showcase the rumoured Orion AR glasses, which will function like most smart glasses. Users would be able to answer calls, view information, stream media, and other social network functionalities. Finally, there's also talk of a proprietary brain-computer interface technology being developed to allow people to control their devices and so much more.

Gareth Bale could make a sensational return to Tottenham after the Real Madrid star's agent talked up a reunion. (More Football News)

Wales star Bale has been frozen out of the first-team picture at Madrid by head coach Zinedine Zidane, despite a decorated stint in the Spanish capital which has included four Champions League triumphs.

The 31-year-old joined Madrid from Spurs in September 2013 for what was then a world-record €100million fee.

Tottenham are reported to be in talks over re-signing Bale, with a loan move thought to be most likely and wages understood to be in the region of £600,000 per week a significant hurdle to negotiate.

Nevertheless, the winger's agent Jonathan Barnett stated playing in north London once again would be his client's preferred option.

"Gareth still loves Spurs," he told BBC Sport Wales. "It's where he wants to be."

Manchester United have frequently been linked to Bale during his time in LaLiga.

He does not fit the age profile of players United tend to sign, although he might be viewed as an alternative option at a time when attempts to bring Borussia Dortmund and England youngster Jadon Sancho to Old Trafford appear to have stalled.

Bale's team-mate, left-back Sergio Reguilon, has been linked to both United and Spurs.

Tottenham head coach Jose Mourinho spoke of his desire to sign another forward ahead of the season opener against Everton last weekend and Bale's arrival would certainly serve as a timely boost after that dispiriting 1-0 home loss.
