Haryana: Woman alleges gang-rape, two minor accused booked

YAMUNANAGAR: A 25-year-old woman has filed a case against two minor boys accusing them of gang-raping her at her room at a brick kiln in Camp area of Yamunanagar town.
The cases was registered against the minor boys - aged 16 and 17 years - under Section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 376-D (gang-rape), 452 (house trespass) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Yamunanagar Women police station on Monday.
The woman alleged, “I live with my husband at a room on a brick-kiln in Camp area. My husband had gone for work in Chandpur Colony on September 12. At about 4.30pm when I was alone in my room, two known youths gang-raped me. They also beat me.”
The complainant said that the accused threatened her that if she told anyone about the incident, they would kill her husband.
In her complaint, the woman also alleged that the police made her sign an empty paper and pressurised her to reach a compromise with the accused. She said despite the crime took place on September 12, the police did not lodge complaint till September 14.
However, Yamunanagar women police station house officer (SHO) Somwati refuted allegations. “As soon as the woman reached the police station, we lodged the complaint. We are verifying the facts and action will be taken accordingly,” said the SHO.
