Vacant posts of sportspersons to be filled in government jobs: Yogi

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that vacancies reserved for sportspersons in state services will be filled by campaigning.

Yogi said during a meeting with a delegation of players and coaches on Monday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is promoting sports facilities and activities under the 'Khelo India' Games. Similarly, his government is also providing all possible facilities to encourage sports and sportspersons in the state.

Apart from Sunil Rana, Anuj Chaudhary, Arjuna awardees, players Vinod Pahalwan, Dr. Satendra Kumar Malik, Sunil Kumar, Yogendra Malik, Dr. Yogesh Kumar, Sports Coaches Gajendra Kumar, Sandeep Kumar, Shiv Kumar, Amit Kumar, Yudhishthira, and Sanjeev Sarawat Were included.

The Chief Minister said that the government is also rewarding the participating players including medal winners in various international competitions. Facilities have been increased in the hostels of the Sports Department in the last three years. Also, the dietary allowance of sportspersons living in hostels of the Sports Department has also been increased.

Yogi said that sports are for the physical and mental development of future generations. In view of this, the action is being taken to establish playgrounds and open gyms, etc. in every village of the state. The land is being reserved for playgrounds in all gram panchayats.

He asked the delegation members to be role models for the coming generation and work to promote sports activities in their respective villages. On this occasion, Minister of State for Sports (Independent Charge) Upendra Tiwari, Principal Secretary Sports Kalpana Awasthi, Information Director Shishir, and other senior officials were present.
