As corona cases are increasing in the country, there is a shortage of oxygen supply in the states and the prices of oxygen cylinders are increasing. The Union Health Ministry has written a letter to all states asking them not to do so. The letter was released by the Union Health Ministry regarding Maharashtra's decision to stop oxygen supply. However, in the southern states, there is no shortage of oxygen supply in Kerala. Along with this, the prices of oxygen cylinders were increased in many states. The National Pharmaceuticals Pricing Authority has fixed the highest price of oxygen at Rs 17 per cubic meter.

After importing oxygen from northern India, the price of oxygen per cubic meter in Telangana increased from Rs 10 to Rs 50. Although there is no shortage of oxygen in Andhra Pradesh, private hospitals are taking a lot of money for oxygen beds.

The price of an oxygen cylinder has increased from Rs 6,500 to Rs 10,000 in Odisha. Apart from this, the cost of refilling the cylinder has also almost doubled. Earlier, the price of refilling was Rs 350 in July, which has now increased to Rs 900.
