Mumbai: Autorickshaw driver injured as three-wheeler hits BEST bus, topples

MUMBAI : An autorickshaw driver was injured after the three-wheeler hit a BEST bus while trying to overtake near the Mith chowky signal in Malad on Tuesday evening.
Said a BEST official : "Our bus was ferrying passengers on route number 243 from Jan Kalyan Nagar to Malad station. At around 5.40 pm, it was waiting at the signal near Mith chowki junction. After the signal turned green, the bus went ahead but an auto tried to overtake it from the right side."
The auto hit the bus and toppled on the right side after hitting the road divider. The bus driver took the injured to Shatabdi hospital for treatment.
Earlier on Monday, a BEST bus accidentally hit the divider on Gorai bridge in which the front bumper of the vehicle was damaged, Nobody was injured in the incident and the bus was towed away for repairs while passengers alighted and took another bus, a source from the bus undertaking said.
