ASI Goa invites bids for fort repair

Works will be carried out at the lower fort in Aguada
PANAJI: The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Goa circle, has floated a tender for works to be carried out at the lower fort at Aguada and the ASI building at Old Goa.
The superintending archaeologist, ASI Goa, has invited tenders for the supply of skilled and unskilled manpower, execution of works and supply of material from eligible contractors and agencies of the central public works department (PWD) and state PWD, the tender notice read.
At Aguada, the estimated cost of Rs 23.3 lakh has been listed for the reconstruction of the fortification wall.
This is the second call for providing skilled and unskilled manpower for the development, repairs and maintenance of the ASI building in Goa. Rs 34.3 lakh is the estimated cost listed for the retender.
The repairs of ASI building involves dismantling the dilapidated and worn out pavements of laterite stones, laying of PCC bed for the foundation and providing benches for visitors.
The closing date of the tenders is September 22.
