A gunfight broke out between terrorists and security forces in Kakapora area of south Kashmir's Pulwama district on Tuesday.
Two soldiers of the Indian Army have been injured in the encounter, police said.
A Jammu and Kashmir Police official told India Today that a joint team of the police, Army's 50 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of terrorists at Marwal village in Kakapora.

He said as the joint team approached the spot, the hiding terrorists fired upon them which was retaliated, triggering an encounter. A senior police officer also confirmed the exchange of fire between forces and terrorists.
As per sources, two to three terrorists are believed to be trapped in the area.
