HAAH Automotive Holdings introduced the Chery-based Vantas VX and TXL earlier this year, and now the company has announced a second brand which will also use Chery-based models.

Dubbed T-GO, the brand will be launched in the United States in late 2022 and assemble vehicles based on Chery’s T1X platform.

The company is keeping details under wraps, but said T-GO’s first model will be a compact crossover which will be followed by at least two other vehicles by 2024. The models will be assembled at an American plant using both domestic and imported parts.

Given the T-GO name and the fact that vehicles will be based on the T1X platform, it seems like we can expect crossovers such as the Chery Tiggo 7. The latest version of the crossover features a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine that produces 154 hp (115 kW 156 PS) and 170 lb-ft (230 Nm) of torque. Customers can also opt for a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine developing 194 hp (145 kW / 197 PS) and 214 lb-ft (290 Nm) of torque.

If T-GO follows in the footsteps of Vantas, we can expect the models to be rebadged versions of their Chinese counterparts. However, there might be some powertrain changes and other updates as part of the homologation process.

Additional details will be released later this year, but HAAH CEO Duke Hale said “The T-GO brand is a mass market entry that, like Vantas, is dedicated to changing the new car buying experience for consumers.” He went on to say customers can expect “one price, no haggle, no hassle vehicle pricing” as well as an “all-digital, fully transparent buying platform.”
