New Delhi: Nickel prices rose 2.40 per cent to Rs 1,114.10 per kg in <a href="/topic/futures-trade" target="_blank">futures trade</a> on Monday as speculators built fresh positions on rising demand from <a href="/topic/alloymakers" target="_blank">alloymakers</a> in the <a href="/topic/spot-market" target="_blank">spot market</a>. On <a href="/topic/the-Multi-Commodity-Exchange" target="_blank">the Multi Commodity Exchange</a>, nickel contracts for September delivery gained Rs 2.40, or 0.22 per cent, to Rs 1,114.10 per kg in a business turnover of 1,812 lots.

<br> The rise in demand from alloymakers in spot market mainly supported the price rise in nickel futures, analysts said.
