One World: Together At Home’ Raised Almost $128 Million

One World: Together At Home – a concert organized by Global Citizen raised $127.9 million to help the organizations fighting COVID-19. The main show was hosted by Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, and Stephen Colbert, with friends from Sesame Street. The broadcast showed and paid respects to the scientists, world leaders, health care professionals, and other essential workers fighting COVID-19. The event called on people around the world and governments to take action against the pandemic. After the event, Global Citizen and Lady Gaga announced that the event raised $ 127.9 million. $55.1 million will go to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, an organization that is trying to stop the spread of the virus by providing the resources for the healthcare workers and supporting the development of the vaccines, treatment, and tests.  $72.8 million of the funds will go to local and regional organizations, fighting the pandemic in different ways, such as Education Cannot Wait, Direct Care, Feeding America, and United Way. Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), an alliance working on the development of the vaccine and UNICEF will also receive funds from the event.

Poker tournament was streamed live on different devices from a very popular casino venue. Poker tournament was wild as the players were very interesting and smart with their decisions. The casino venue has also offered not only poker tournaments but other casino games for the charity movement. After the Poker’s tournament, regular international players could visit the gaming platform and play for the charity.
