Kerala’s popular tourist destination Thekkady is popular for the Tiger Reserve and wild life sanctuary. These were closed due to lockdown, but now they are returning to their normal days. With restrictions lifted, tourists have started coming down to Thekkady.

Hordes of people are visiting Thekkady Lake for enjoying boating. Members of different organizations operating in the region are also coming to experience boating in the region.

The boating industry in the state suffered big losses owing to lockdown measures. A tourism department official said that the lockdown extended throughout the months of May and June when Kerala receives the highest number of tourists. Tourism activities had to be closed down during this period and boat operators faced a lot of economical hardships. The official added they hope to make a good recovery by October.
