JAISALMER: After inputs on intrusion and smuggling of weapons and drugs from Pakistan into the Indian border adjoining Rajasthan and Punjab, the BSF has been put on high alert in Rajasthan and ordered to deal strictly with any untoward incident across the border.
After the terror threat to Indian Air Force airports in western border, security has been tightened at Jaisalmer’s Uttarlai and other important airports. Police along with Air Force security squad are patrolling in the area.
According to the information from intelligence sources, on September 9, BSF jawans had shot dead two Pakistani intruders in possession of weapons and drugs. BSF had recovered 9kg heroin, pistol, cartridges, magazine, etc. In Abohar sector of Punjab adjoining Ganganagar, intrusion bid was foiled on Saturday. Cache of arms including two M16 rifles, three AK47 and many rounds and magazine were caught. Following this, BSF on Rajasthan and Punjab borders was put on high alert.
Sources said that there are inputs that Pakistan is trying to push ammunition and drugs from Punjab and Rajasthan borders. BSF senior officers have been directed to visit the border. Strict watch is being kept on the activities across the border and directions have been given to strictly deal with any untoward activities. Besides, after the terror threat on airports of Indian Air Force, security has been tightened.
