Karnataka: Rain may abate next week

Heavy overnight rain on Tuesday and Wednesday last week affected many areas in north and east Bengaluru
BENGALURU: If you were hoping for the sun to rise with the dawn of the new week, the wet weather is here to keep you company for some more days.
On Sunday, Bengaluru remained covered in clouds and witnessed a constant drizzle. The city received 0.8 mm of rainfall till 5:30pm. Fairly widespread rain of light to moderate intensity is likely across the state this week, says the weatherman.
While showers are likely to be isolated, heavy to very heavy in north-interior Karnataka, Malnad and coastal regions, it will be scattered or widespread and of light to moderate intensity in south-interior Karnataka.
Bengaluru is likely to see a cloudy sky, with isolated to scattered and light to moderate rain, predicted Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre. “The intensity of rainfall in south-interior Karnataka will reduce from next week and Bengaluru is likely to witness less rain after that,” said CS Patil, director of IMD.

Ravi Kumar, a resident from an affected locality near Horamavu said on Sunday: “While rainwater has receded, there is nearly half a feet of sewage sludge inside our house.”
