Stalin to Amit Shah: Save people from Covid-19 instead of saving Hindi that ‘divides people’

M K Stalin
CHENNAI: DMK president M K Stalin on Monday asked Union home minister Amit Shah to save Indians from Covid-19 pandemic rather than saving Hindi.
Stalin was taking a jibe at Shah, who had earlier in the day said Hindi as a language connects people across the country.
“India is a multi-cultural nation. How can Hindi language, being spoken by people in a few states, connect the whole country? Hindi is actually dividing the people, who despite their multi-cultural background believe in the integration of the nation,” Stalin said in a social media post.
“I would urge the home minister to rather focus his attention on saving Indians from the Covid-19 pandemic, rather than saving Hindi,” Stalin said.
