The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) is being held on Sunday across the country amid stringent checks and protocols in view of the Covid-19 pandemic. Over 15 lakh candidates have registered for the undergraduate exam. The NEET exam is being held days after the JEE (Main) was held across the country.
The National Testing Agency (NTA), the body organising the exam has put in place a raft of measures such as increasing the number of exam centres and reducing number of students in a room in view of the Covid-19. Originally scheduled for May 3, has been deferred twice due to Covid-19 first it was postponed to July 26 and then to September 13.
In another news, The names of Communist Party of India (Marxist) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury, Swaraj Abhiyan leader Yogendra Yadav, former JNU student Omar Khalid and other prominent people have come up in the chargesheet filed by the Delhi Police in one of the northeast Delhi riots cases. The prominent personalities have been named in the disclosure statements made by accused Devangana Kalita, Natasha Narwal and Gulfisha Fatima in connection with the case. The trio is facing charges under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
