Two nabbed for accepting matka bets in Goa

PANAJI: The crime branch has arrested two persons for accepting matka bets, in two separate raids in South Goa. Gambling articles and cash amounting to over Rs 37,000 have been seized.
In the first raid, conducted near the old Margao railway station, an accused was caught red-handed while accepting matka bets, and Rs 15,900 and gambling articles were seized.
The second raid at Chapoli, in Canacona, resulted in Rs 22,000 being seized. Both the accused have been arrested and FIRs under section 11(2)(a) of the Public Gambling Act have been registered.
