Economic activities getting back to normal in Gujarat

The economic activities in Gujarat, are slowly getting back to normal with more relaxations in unlock 4. Large numbers of migrant workers have returned to work in Surat, Ahmedabad and other industrial areas.

The diamond, textile and construction industries in Surat, Ahmedabad and chemical industries in Bharuch have maximum migrant laborers. The return of workforce in cities like Surat and Ahmedabad is a matter of concern for the local municipal corporations. Following the relaxations, more and more workers are coming back to Surat and Ahmedabad.

Western Railway has made special arrangements for health screening and sanitization of these passengers at Railway stations. Static units have been set up at the railway station, bus depot and other entry points for screening. Symptomatic passengers are being tested for Covid-19 on the spot.
