New South Wales has recorded nine new cases of coronavirus, including one from an unknown source.

Of the newest cases recorded on Sunday, four are returned travellers in hotel quarantine while another four are locally acquired and linked to known cases.

Two of the locally-acquired cases are household contacts linked to the Eastern Suburbs Legion Club cluster and the other two are linked to St Paul's Catholic College Greystanes.

All four cases have been in self-isolation while infectious while the other case is locally acquired and remains under investigation.

NSW Health also advised an infected person visited KFC in Concord on September 6 with anyone who was at the restaurant between 1pm and 1.20pm considered a casual contact.

Anyone who attended the venue at the same time is being told to monitor for symptoms.

NSW Health acting director Dr Christine Selvey urged people to immediately get tested if they feel unwell and to maintain social distancing.

'COVID-19 continues to spread in the community and we must all continue to help stop the spread of this disease,' Dr Selvey said in a video update on Sunday. 

NSW Health is treating 83 COVID-19 cases including six in intensive care, three of which are being ventilated.

On Saturday NSW recorded just six new cases.

Customers of a KFC store on Bunting Street in Emerton were also warned to be wary of coronavirus symptoms.

Anyone who visited the store on September 7 between 12pm to 9.30pm are being urged to get tested if any symptoms appear.

Close contacts have been told to self-isolate for two weeks even if they return a negative result. 

The Blue Mountains Grammar School is also being cleaned after one of Saturday's new infections was traced back to a student.

Health authorities have also issued a warning for an aquatic centre in the Blue Mountains.

'A previously reported case attended Katoomba Aquatic Centre on Friday 4 September from 11.30am-1.30pm,' NSW Health said.

'Anyone who was at the venue at this time is advised to monitor for symptoms and immediately self-isolate and get tested if symptoms develop, however mild, and remain isolated until a negative result is received.'

Commuters on two bus routes in the eastern suburbs have also been told to stay alert for any symptoms.

These include the 379 Bronte Beach – Bondi Junction station route on September 7 at 11.08am-11.24am and the 316 Avoca St Randwick – Bondi Junction station route on September 7 at 10.44am-11.05am.
