In West Bengal, the Congress party took out a rally in Kolkata in support of Bollywood actress Riya Chakraborty and protested against the alleged harassment of the actress in a drug-related case involving the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

Around 100 party workers took part in the rally. The rally was organized from the headquarters of the Central Committee of the Congress of West Bengal in Kolkata. Similar rallies were also taken out by the party in West Midnapore and West Burdwan districts.

The activists raised slogans and protested against the placards protesting the alleged 'vandalism campaign' against the 'daughter of Bengal' in the name of investigation. In which it was written, 'We will not stop until he (Riya Chakravarthy) gets justice.'

The protests by Congress activists came three days after Congress MP and West Bengal Party unit chief Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary called Chakraborty a 'Bengali Brahmin'.

West Bengal Congress tweeted Political conspiracy and retaliatory behavior against Bengal's daughter Riya Chakraborty will not be tolerated. On Wednesday, Chaudhary had said that Rajput was an Indian actor, but the BJP turned him into a Bihari actor only for the assembly elections to be held in Bihar.

At the same time, the BJP has attacked the Congress on this statement of Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary. BJP national general secretary Rahul Sinha said, "The age-old Congress party is no longer an issue in their hands and that's why they are playing such petty politics over language." This is unfortunate. The law will make its own way. To question it means that they are questioning the judicial system.

TMC MP Saugata Roy said he was convicted before being convicted in court. Such a campaign once again proves the BJP's sheer hatred towards Bengalis.
