Coronavirus Pune: District level committee formed to maintain oxygen supply in Covid-19 hospitals and health centres- Collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh

The District Disaster Management Authority has been set up under Section 25 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005. The Collector is the ex-officio Chairman of the Authority and the State Government has enacted the Prevention of Infectious Diseases Act, 1897 from March 13, 2020, to prevent the spread of the virus.

Pune: Pune District level committee has been constituted to maintain oxygen supply in COVID-19 hospitals and COVID-19 health centre, informed the Pune District Collector, Dr Rajesh Deshmukh.

The District Disaster Management Authority has been set up under Section 25 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005. The Collector is the ex-officio Chairman of the Authority and the State Government has enacted the Prevention of Infectious Diseases Act, 1897 from March 13, 2020, to prevent the spread of the virus.

The decision comes in light of the complaints of insufficient oxygen supply to Covid-19 patients for the past few days.

There is a possibility of a temporary shortage in some places due to inadequate distribution of oxygen in the state. Considering that the number of Covid-19 patients will increase in the future and the need for oxygen will increase, suggestions have been issued to improve the oxygen supply. Also, the Collector has constituted a committee at the district level.

A district-level committee of officers has been constituted at the district level to monitor the supply of oxygen to the hospitals in Pune district to prevent the outbreak of Coronavirus.

The Pune Resident Deputy Collector to coordinate with the Collector's Office for planning assistant Commissioner, Department of Food and Drug Administration, Pune to coordinate with the producers and plan the distribution from the bottling plant.

General Manager, District Industries Center, Pune to increase production and coordinate with producers.

The Regional Transport Officer, Pune and from the Pimpri Chinchwad has a plan for transport-tanker of oxygen coordination.

The District Surgeon should compile the daily oxygen requirement of all the Public Health Departments, Medical Education Departments, Municipal Corporations and Private Hospitals treating Covid-19 patients in the district and report it to the Resident Deputy Collector, Pune.

The District Health Officer, Zilla Parishad, Pune has directed all the Public Health Departments, Medical Education Departments, Municipal Corporations and Private Hospitals to provide daily oxygen to the Covid-19 patients in the district.

Care should be taken to ensure that every hospital receives oxygen in time by being in constant touch with them.

The control room set up for monsoon under disaster management at the district level is being given the responsibility of oxygen supply and the control room is being maintained till December 31, 2020.

The control room should be used to solve problems related to an oxygen supply.
