'Please praise using big words': Shashi Tharoor responds to Chetan Bhagat's request

NEW DELHI: Shashi Tharoor and author Chetan Bhagat had an entertaining Twitter exchange on Sunday after the latter teased the Congress leader to praise him using "big words". To the delight of Twitter users and Bhagat himself, Tharoor obliged instantly.
It all started when Tharoor took to Twitter to praise an opinion piece by Bhagat published on TOI titled ' The youth need to shut their phones and ask about the economy'.
Calling it a "superb piece", Tharoor said that Chetan’s great virtue is the simplicity and directness of his writing.

"His message is clear & I hope his fans in the government act on it," the Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram said.
"Floored" by the effusive praise, Bhagat tweeted that he will "frame" Tharoor's tweet and made a quirky request to the Congress leader.
"Ok I still can’t get over this. The @ShashiTharoor has praised @chetanbhagat. I am floating. Just one request sir, next time can you use some big words to praise me, like ones that only you can do. Superb is nice but a big one would really make my day!," the author tweeted.

Moments later, Tharoor responded, "Sure, @chetan_bhagat ! It’s clear you are not sesquipedalian nor given to rodomontade. Your ideas are unembellished with tortuous convolutions & expressed without ostentation. I appreciate the limpid perspicacity of today’s column."
Tharoor, known for his voluminous vocabulary, has often made headlines for using big words like 'Farrago', 'rodomontade' and 'snollygoster' on Twitter.
