NEET 2020 candidates wait in a queue to enter an examination centre in Trichy.TRICHY: Around 82% of the candidates, who registered for National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) 2020 in Trichy appeared for the examination on Sunday while 1,702 candidates remained absent.
A total of 9,499 candidates had registered for NEET (UG) 2020 and were allotted to take up the test in 22 centres in Trichy district. Out of this, 7,797 candidates appeared for the test.
Many candidates from neighbouring Pudukottai, Sivagangai, Karur and Thanjavur districts came along with their family to the examination centres.
City coordinator for NEET 2020 C J Chacko said that none of the candidates had fever, hence none of them had to appear for the test at a separate place.
Candidates started entering the centre from 11am for the test scheduled at 2pm.
Many of the centres offered canteen facitly for candidates and their parents, who were waiting for long hours.
