<p>Cloud over New Mangalore Port<br></p>MANGALURU: Rains had almost abated since Sunday afternoon, with the morning witnessing occasional mild showers, providing relief to the city which was drenched from Thursday with unending downpour.
The district on Sunday recorded 54mm of rainfall, with Sullia getting the heaviest rainfall at 78mm. Mangaluru taluk which received heavy rains on Friday at 210mm, received only 44mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours. In the coast, Udupi district received highest amount of rainfall at 68mm and Uttara Kannada received 34mm.
There were no reports of any water logging or inundation from any part of the city on Sunday. KSNMDC predicted widespread moderate to heavy rains were likely over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts. The bulletin warned fishermen not to venture into the sea till September 16, predicting squally and rough winds over the sea.
