The accident took place in Seruna police station area near Jodhasar village.JAIPUR: Two army officers were killed in a road accident after the vehicle in which they were travelling in toppled on National Highway-11 near Bikaner around 5.30am on Saturday.
The deceased have been identified as Colonel Manish Singh Chauhan, commanding officer (CO) of an infantry battalion, and Major Neeraj Sharma, another officer. Two jawans also suffered injuries in the accident and were later shifted to a hospital.
"The preliminary investigation has revealed that the likely reason for the toppling of the vehicle was that they were trying to avoid hitting stray cattle. We are also investigating if there was a tyre burst," said an official of Seruna police station.
The accident occurred in Seruna police station area near Jodhasar village.
According to sources, the officers were from a regiment which is located in Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur and were in Bikaner for official work.
