The whole world, including India, is currently suffering from the Corona crisis, in India, more than 95 thousand cases of corona have been reported in the last 24 hours, while more than 72 thousand people have died due to this epidemic in the country so far, in India. On the one hand, matters are increasing, on the other hand, the season of festivals has started here.


Let me tell you, Durga Puja festival is coming in the country in the coming months, amidst all these, the government has issued guidelines to celebrate these festivals in the Corona period. The Government of Odisha has today issued guidelines for the observance of Durga Puja, Lakshmi Puja, Kali Puja, and other similar pujas during September, October, and November.

Guidelines issued by Government of Odisha -

* The organizers will have to take necessary permission from the District Magistrate or any other officer authorized by him to conduct the Puja in the puja pandals/pavilions. In Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, such permission will be given by the Commissioner of Police or any other officer authorized by him.

* The size of the idol in the puja pandals will be less than 4 feet.

* No more than 7 people, including organizers, priests, and support staff, will be present in the puja pandals/pavilions at any time.

* The people present in the puja pandal/mandap will have to follow the social distancing, mask, and all the necessary COVID protocols issued by the administration.

* Organizers and other persons conducting poojas will have to abide by any other condition (s) imposed by the local administration or the appropriate authority.

* No immersion procession will come out after worship. The idols will be immersed in artificial ponds built by the local administration.

* There will be no song music or any other entertainment program.
