Aizawl FC have signed as many as six local talents to revive their fortunes and head coach Stanley Rozario said he is optimistic ahead of the new I-League season.

“We have followed these players closely for a long time before signing them. They will add more depth and vigour to our squad. Now, it’s up to us to get them into the system quickly and get going once the season kicks off,” Stanley said.

Arsenal's Emi Martinez is on his way to Aston Villa

According to The Telegraph, the goalkeeper has been undergoing a medical after being left out of Arsenal's squad for a Premier League opener against Fulham, which they won 3-0.

Martinez is expected to complete a 20 million pounds move to Villa.

Sandesh Jhingan is likely to stay put in India with the coronavirus pandemic hitting hid chance of moving abroad. Marcus Mergulhao feels only two teams in India (ATKMohun Bagan and Bengaluru FC) are in the race to sign Jhingan, with a decision expected next week.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will remain at Arsenal amid interest from Barcelona.

The Gabon striker has already agreed to sign a contract extension with the Gunners, according to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano. He said that Aubameyang agreed to stay on at the Emirates until 2023.

Romano also said that Ronald Koeman, Barcelona's new manager, wants Aubameyang at the Camp Nou along with Lyon's Memphis Depay.

Inter Milan's interest in Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri is ‘no longer a priority’, according to According to FC Inter News.

Inter are willing to wait until the end of the transfer window  to sign Emerson even though he remains a target for Antonio Conte, as they have already signed Aleksandar Kolarov from Roma.

The Daily Star says, Manchester United won’t be held to ransom over their pursuit of Jadon Sancho and will focus on other targets if Borussia Dortmund do not lower their valuation of 108million pounds.

More changes at Chelsea as the London club are considering offering Ross Barkley plus cash for Declan Rice from West Ham United.

According to Football Insider, Chelsea can sue Barkley in the deal, after the arrivals of Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech could see his play-time getting further reduced.

Looks like Chelsea will have a new man in between the sticks as Rennes'  Edouard Mendy edges closer to move to Stamford bridge.  

The Blues had their initial bid of about 18 million pounds rejected with Rennes sticking to their asking price of 30 million pounds.

But  according to rumours in the media, a compromise has been made between the English and French side and Mendy will travel to London over the weekend for a medical.

USA's World Cup-winning star Alex Morgan is close to joining Tottenham Hotspur Women on a short-term deal until the end of December, according to Sky Sports.

Morgan gave birth to her daughter earlier in May and last played competitive football for for Orlando Pride in the National Women's Soccer League.
