JEE Main 2020 topper: Sourabh Soumyakanta Das tops in Odisha

BHUBANESWAR: Sourabh Soumyakanta Das, student of DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur, is the Odisha topper in the JEE (Main) examination, results of which were declared by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Friday night.
Stitiprajna Sahoo is the JEE Main state topper in female category. She has secured 99.98 per cent mark.
Sourabh secured 99.992 percentage in the JEE (Main) 2020 examination. He was the state topper of the JEE Main- January 2020. After the September JEE Main -2020 Examination, the ranks of the candidates have been released taking into consideration better of the two NTA scores of all candidates appeared in January 2020 and September 2020 examinations, said sources.
Regarding preparation for this tough test, Sourabh said students appearing for the JEE (Main) need to have clarity on concepts and fundamental things of respective subjects. Focused study for five hours every day is enough for this examination, he added.
Sourabh, son of a railway officer Gopal Chandra Das, suggested the students, who are preparing for the examination, to understand the basic concepts and have fundamental ideas about the subjects in the schools. “We have to refer previous questions and several sets of practice questions during preparation for the test. We have to clear our doubts regarding any topics in the schools or coaching centres. We should also practice in such a way so that it will be easy to answer questions in the examination,” he added.
The topper said he is interested to pursue his B Tech in any IIT of the country. “If I get good rank in JEE Advanced, I will choose IIT Bombay. I want to work in technology sector,” he added.
