Punjab: Patiala reports 253 Covid-19 positive cases, 4 deaths

PATIALA: Patiala reported 253 more Covid-19 cases on Saturday taking the tally to 8,410. Four more deaths were reported taking the death toll to 232 in the district. So far, 6,498 patients have been cured while 1,680 patients are active.
Among 253 positive cases reported on Saturday, 159 were from Patiala city, three from Samana, 34 from Rajpura, 14 from Nabha, nine from Bhadson block, 11 from Kauli block, seven from Kalomajra block, five from Harpalpur block, five from Dudhansadanblock, and six from Shutrana block .
Dr Harish Malhotra, Civil Surgeon Patiala said, “Among the four deaths three were from Patiala city while one deceased hail from Samana and all were in age group between 61 to 85 years old. So far, 1,15,633 samples have been taken so far of which 2400 reports were pending whereas 8410 tested positive.”
In Fatehgarh Sahib, three deaths and 23 positive cases were reported on Saturday taking the death toll to 53 and tally of positive cases to 1,362. So far, 30, 523 samples have been taken of which 28,830 tested negative while 331 reports were awaited and 176 are active cases while 1133 have been cured till date.
In Ropar, one death and 62 positive cases were reported today following which tally reached 1286 and death toll reach 43 in the district. So far, 40032 samples have been taken for testing of which 38512 tested negative while 910 have been cured and 333 are active cases.
