GURUGRAM: A criminal, languishing in jail since July, was slapped with charges of rape after a woman filed a complaint against him on Friday at Sector 10 police station accusing him of raping, filming and blackmailing her since March. The woman told police, that the man — Ashu — not only raped her but also raped her minor daughter after giving them a drink laced with sedatives on two different occasions.
“Ashu used to visit our house as he was a friend of my husband. On March 19, i fell ill and he offered me drink laced with sedatives, claiming it to be some medicine. After having the drink, I fell unconscious and taking advantage of my condition, he raped me. He also recorded the crime on his phone and kept blackmailing me,” the woman said.
Few days later her husband suffered a heart attack and was taken to PGI Rohtak for treatment. The couple’s minor daughter had stayed back in city with her grandparents. After a week, Ashu allegedly visited their house to enquire about his friend. “On the pretext of taking our daughter out, he took her to an isolated place, gave her a sedative laced drink and raped her too. This time too he recorded a video of the crime to blackmail us,” she said.
On June 28, the woman’s husband passed away. Fearing for their life, the woman continued to keep shut and didn’t tell anyone about the crime. “As fate had it, Ashu was arrested in July under the Arms Act and sent to jail. The woman finally gathered courage and filed a complaint at Sector 10 police station on Friday,” an officer said.
Inspector Sanjay Kumar, station house officer (SHO) of sector 10 police station said, “The accused is currently in jail and he has a criminal background. An FIR has been registered against him under sections of the IPC and POCSO Act. We will take him on production remand for interrogation for this case.”
