Realme C17 with Snapdragon 460 SoC could be in works

Realme reintroduced the C-series with three new smartphones that heavily focused on large batteries and C17 could also be one of them.

Highlights

  • Realme C17 has appeared on the Geekbench listing with scores.
  • It is listed with a Snapdragon 460 processor and 6GB of RAM.
  • Realme C17 is also likely to pack a huge battery, much like the C15.

Realme refreshed its entry-level C-series recently. Instead of launching one smartphone every five-six months, the company said it will roll out at least three smartphones at a time under the series. Realme did that when it launched the C11, C12, and C15 in India. It now seems the company is preparing for another round, at least that is what the latest leak suggests. A new Realme device has showed up on Geekbench and it could be the Realme C17.

The model number for the device is RMX2101 and it is listed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 processor. Oppo uses this processor on the A53 that debuted in India recently. I have not reviewed the device yet so I am unsure how well it performs. But considering it is an entry-level processor, you will have to keep expectations in check especially in terms of gaming. But it is an interesting choice for Realme's upcoming C-series because the recent ones use the MediaTek Helio G35 processor and it was decent for a budget phone.

The Geekbench listing has shown there will be 6GB of RAM, which is the most by far in the C-series. It also runs Android 10 according to the listing but there is going to be the Realme UI on top. The single-core points obtained by the Realme C17 are 253 while the multi-core scores are 1248. Interestingly, the same model has appeared previously on Indonesian and Thai certification websites.

The Realme C11, C12, and C15 focused heavily on big batteries, so I am guessing the C17 will also bring in a mammoth battery. Samsung just unveiled the Galaxy M51 that packs a monstrous 7000mAh battery. Realme could have an answer to Galaxy M51 in the form of C17. However, I am not sure what Realme has in store for now.

In terms of price, Realme C17 could cost more than what the C15 does if we go by the ascending order of numbers. Realme's hierarchy sometimes gets a little weird, which is why one cannot be too sure. The Realme C17, however, is going to be positioned below the Realme 7 series that launched in India a few days back. The Realme C15 costs Rs 9,999 and the Realme 7 is priced at Rs 14,990, so you have a wide gap here that the C17 can fill.
