Tourism Cares, along with its partners at ProColombia and Impulse Travel, will be hosting a virtual Meaningful Travel Summit inviting travel professionals for examining how sustainable practices show the way for more durable communities and tourism destinations.
Amidst a lot of companies transitioning to virtual events, the Meaningful Travel Summit stands out as a platform for local community changemakers living in tourism destinations and not just travels companies benefiting from those places. This Summit will find out how tourism creates dignified livelihoods, providing alternative jobs and economic investment to limit negative social and environmental impacts happening around the world today.
Rodrigo Atuesta, a Summit speaker and co-founder of Impulse Travel said, “The tourism industry is a unifier for all different types of community projects, community interests, even aspects unknown – and can all be linked to making a destination sustainable and able to move forward.”
The Virtual Meaningful Travel Summit will also highlight Tourism Cares’ Global Meaningful Travel Map, which is a tool connecting travel buyers with worldwide social enterprises, nonprofits, community-led experiences, products, and tours developed, invested in, or vetted by Tourism Cares.
