The sessions court in Mumbai rejected the bail to Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty
The sessions court in Mumbai rejected the bail plea of the Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty who was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Tuesday for allegedly managing drugs for Sushant Singh Rajput.
After granting 14-days of judicial custody of Rhea Chakraborty to the NCB, the magistrate court had dismissed her bail plea. Following the same, Rhea's legal team had applied for bail in the Sessions Court. Even the bail application Showik and others was rejected by the Sessions court.
NCB during the proceedings on Tuesday sought 14-day judicial custody of Rhea and was approved by the court. Their remand copy said that she is an active member of drug syndicate and was procured drugs for consumption. The remand application also stated that Rhea's brother Showik Chakraborty was procuring drugs from Kaizen Ibrahim and Abdel Basit Parihar on Rhea’s behest. After spending the night at NCB office, Rhea was sent to Byculla Women's prison on Wednesday.
In her bail plea, the 28-year-old actress had said that she is innocent and accused the NCB of ‘falsely implicating’ her in the case.
