Representative imageLUCKNOW: Lucknow police on Thursday filed a chargesheet in the Rs 9.72 core animal husbandry scam. It indicted ten persons who have already been arrested in the scam.
Manjeet Singh Bhatia, an MP-based businessman, was duped of Rs 9.72 crore by some people who offered him a fake tender in animal husbandry department.
Later, those involved in this scam, including senior IPS officers, journalists, secretary of a minister, who while posing as deputy director S K Mittal used the office of the animal husbandry department, were arrested by the STF and the probe was handed over to the Lucknow police.
Assistant commissioner of police, Gomtinagar, Shweta Srivastava, who conducted the probe said that a chargesheet against ten persons in the scam who have already been arrested was filed on Thursday. “A part of the investigation was still pending,” she said.
