“I will work for the nation’s development, maybe as a civil servant or as a researcher”. Unlike most of his peers, JEE Main 2020 topper from Rajasthan Parth Dwivedi is keen on pursuing higher education in India and not abroad. Parth topped the JEE Main from Rajasthan along with nine others, who scored perfect 100 percentile this year. The 17-year-old aims to pursue Computer Science from IIT Bombay.
According to Parth, his mother’s selfless service to the nation as a police officer inspired him to work for the country. “I grew up seeing my mother’s tireless service for the nation. Whether it is early morning or late at night, my mother was always dedicated to the service,” said the topper.
Among the remaining toppers, five are from Delhi, four from Rajasthan, three from Andhra Pradesh, two from Haryana and one each from Gujarat and Maharashtra.
Last year, too, the same number of candidates were ranked first. However, the best performance was registered by two states -- Telangana and Rajasthan. Four candidates from each state had scored 100 percentile in 2019.
JEE Main cut-off for top NITs is the minimum closing ranks that candidates have to secure in the exam for admission into the institutes. The cut-off is determined after considering some factors such as the difficulty level of the exam, total number of candidates that appeared for the exam, number of candidates applying for admission, category of the candidate, and others.
After the result, candidates might be looking for the previous years’ cut-off for NITs to know about their admission chances. Previous year cut-off for the top NITs has been mentioned below.

Eduride allowed students to request for a ride, and 3,500 students have registered on the portal so far. Majority of the students who have registered on the portal are from Bihar, followed by Maharashtra, UP and Delhi. The alumni network aims to reach out to those who cannot afford the commute.

If you are among those thousands of students who could not make it through the JEE Main, do not lose heart as there are many forts you can still conquer to achieve your dream degree. Only 2.4 lakh candidates qualify for JEE Advanced and the rest are left with state-level colleges. Since there are limited seats in IITs, NITs as well, those below 90 percentile can find it difficult to get a seat in NITs as well.
