Serena Williams Loses To Victoria Azarenka In US Open Semi-Finals

 

Serena Williams' wait for a record-equalling 24th singles Grand Slam title continued after she was knocked out by Belarus' Victoria Azarenka in three sets in the US Open semi-finals. Serena, seeded third, lost 6-1, 3-6, 3-6 to Azarenka, who will now take on Japanese fourth seed Naomi Osaka in the final at Flushing Meadows.

Osaka defeated 28th seed Jennifer Brady in a high quality three-setter to reach the US Open final. 2018 US Open champion overcame the 25-year-old American 7-6 (7/1), 3-6, 6-3 in 2hr 8min under the roof of Arthur Ashe Stadium.
