There will be no lockdown on Saturday as per the state government’s guidelines for Unlock 4.0 issued on Wednesday.
Movement of people for all non-essential activities would also remain prohibited between 9.30 pm and 5 am within municipal limits of all cities throughout the week. But, despite the imposition of curfew on Sundays, restaurants, religious places, liquor vends, shops dealing in essential commodities, sports complexes, stadia and public parks would remain open till 9 pm even on Sundays. Hotels will also remain open Sunday.
Offices to operate with 50% staff strength till September-end
All restrictions issued by the Punjab government for Unlock 4.0 would be applicable only in urban areas of the state.
Like the Unlock 3.0 guidelines, only 30 persons and 20 persons, respectively, will be allowed at gatherings related to marriages and funerals till September 30. Similarly, only three persons including a driver would be allowed in a four-wheeler. All buses and public transport vehicles can run with 50% capacity seating and no passenger standing.

Essential services include those related to health, agriculture and related activities, dairying and fishery activities, banks, ATMs, stock markets, insurance companies, online teaching, public utilities, public transport, industry in multiple shifts, construction industry and offices -- both private and government.
Also, movement of persons and students related to examinations, admission or entrance tests conducted by universities, boards, public service commissions and other institutions shall be permitted. Health care institutions and chemist shops would continue to open through the week.
Government and private offices shall operate with 50% staff strength till September-end. The heads of offices would restrict public visitors in government offices and encourage use of online public grievances redressal system and other online tools to minimise person-to-person contact in offices.
