The Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to hear petitions requesting the postponement or cancellation of the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) to be held on 13 September.

A bench headed by Justice Ashok Bhushan said that the authorities will take all steps to conduct the NEET exam amid the global epidemic COVID-19 for admissions in medical courses. The bench said, "Sorry, we do not want to hear."

The court had on September 4 dismissed all petitions, including the petition of ministers of six non-BJP ruled states, to reconsider its order of August 17 to allow examination of NEET and JEE, along with the route for NEET and JEE examinations was cleared.
